Elementary National Championships (non-US)
In order to qualify for the National Championship a student must participate in an elementary qualifying round during the school year and do any one of the following:
- Earn at least 50% of the available points on any of the individual tests or the individual total score.
- Score strictly higher than 80% of the other participants in his or her grade at that contest on any of the individual tests or the individual total score.
- Participate on a team that scores either at least 50% of the available points or strictly higher than 80% of the other teams in the school's division at that contest on the Team test.
Additional Policies
- If fewer than 50 students qualify for the National Championship in any country, the National Championship coordinator may relax the qualification requirements upon receiving mathleague.org approval to do so.
- Teams at the National Championship do not need to consist of the same individuals who competed together when qualifying for the National Championship; the school's coach may choose how to arrange the qualifying students from a given school into teams.
- Students may only sign up for the National Championship in the country where their school is physically located, and then only if they have qualified for the National Championship.
- National Championships are listed on our events page (click "upcoming events" at the top of this page) as soon as their dates and locations are confirmed. If your country is not listed by February 15, contact us at customercare@mathleague.org for updated information. Some countries list their championships late in the year, but rest assured we will hold a National Championship in each country where students participate in our contests and qualify for nationals.
