ARML 2011 Information - San Francisco Bay Area Practices

We will hold our first practice of the year Saturday April 30 from 10am to 2pm at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill. We have chosen this location because we have a number of students from the Sacramento area who are planning to join our team this year, and this is a good location to accommodate everyone. The first hour of the practice will be an information session designed primarily for students who have not been to ARML before, and at 11 we will split into teams to begin practicing ARML questions. We will be providing pizza lunch for everyone who shows up to this practice and will also be announcing the members of our two competitive teams (note that in selecting our competitive teams we are taking into account the difference in difficulty of the two AIME tests this year)..

Please try to make it to this first practice even if it's a bit of a drive for you; our remaining practices will be held in Sacramento and Stanford, and we will tell you more about these practices on Saturday. Diablo Valley College is located at 321 Golf Club Road in Pleasant Hill; a map is available at http://www.dvc.edu/org/campuses/. The practice will be held on the ground floor of the math building (number 6 on the campus map) in room MA101, and parking is available just south of the math building..

Stanford practices will start May 8; this schedule is subject to change depending on whether there are days and times that work better for students. Any changes will be posted here and announced on our mailing list.

  • May 8 - Stanford, 2pm-5pm
  • May 15 - Stanford, 2pm-5pm
  • May 22 - Stanford, 2pm-5pm
  • Memorial Day weekend - Stanford, TBA

Stanford practices will be held in Room 380-X. Click on the link to see where the building is located on campus; the following map will help get you within visual range of the building:
