Mailing List - Practices - Permission Slip
Students planning to go to ARML this year need to send a permission slip, along with a check for $200 (made out to Math League), to PO Box 19404, Stanford CA 94309. You may also pay online by clicking the button below; either way, make sure participant's name is attached to the payment, and make sure to mail the permission slip as soon as possible. Payments must be received by May 1, and permission slips must be received by May 15.
Letter to Prospective Students
mathleague.org is recruiting a team of 15 talented math students to represent the State of Arizona at the national ARML competition, and we would like to invite you to submit an application to be on this year's team. We will be competing at the American Regions Mathematics League national contest in Las Vegas this May. This year's ARML meet is scheduled for May 30 and 31 at the campus of the University of Nevada - Las Vegas. We will leave on May 30 and return once the awards ceremony is completed around 4:00 Saturday afternoon May 31. Fortunately, this year ARML does not conflict with the SAT, so no students will have to go through the hassle of rescheduling a test date.
The total cost of the trip this year will be $200, which covers registration, housing Friday night at the University of Nevada - Las Vegas, two meals on Saturday, round trip transportation from Tucson or Phoenix to Las Vegas, and a team T-shirt. You will be responsible for your meals on Friday and dinner Saturday night, as well as any additional spending money you wish to bring. Many school districts pay part or all of a student's expenses to attend the ARML meet. Feel free to seek funding from your local district; if you are accepted onto the team mathleague.org can prepare an official invitation letter to assist in securing funding if you would like to pursue this option. In addition, mathleague.org will be awarding one full and one partial ARML scholarship to the top two individuals at the state championship on April 19.
Considering the early May registration deadline, your application for participation will be due by April 22. You may apply online at http://mathleague.org/armlapp.php. Accepted students will be notified by April 25 and will need to submit a permission slip and the $200 fee by April 30. If your parents are interested in traveling to Las Vegas with the team, let us know so we can work out the appropriate details with them. Specific transportation details will be arranged once we have an idea of who will be attending.

Once you have been accepted onto the team we will send details about transportation and notify you of any team practices to be held in your area between now and the time we leave for Las Vegas. Attending practices is an important part of the ARML process; and as such you will be expected to attend practices held throughout May in Tucson and Phoenix if you live close enough to attend practices.
