Northern California Championship Meet
April 16, Amador Valley High School

mathleague.org is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the Northern California High School Math Championship on April 16, 2011. Testing will consist of Power, Sprint, Target, Team and Relay rounds. The contest will be held at Amador Valley High School in Pleasanton, and the cost will be $10 per student. The approximate schedule will be as follows:
  • 7:30 Check in
  • 8:00 Testing begins (first four tests)
  • 11:30 Lunch break
  • 12:30 Relays
  • 1:15 Awards
Amador Valley High School is located at 1155 Santa Rita Road in Pleasanton; a map and directions are available here.

Prizes will be given to the top students in each grade level, as well as to the top teams. Students are expected to bring their own pencils and calculators. Winning teams and students from this contest will be invited to compete at mathleague.org's league championship in Kansas City on May 13. If you are interested in attending you should contact us to let us know you are thinking of traveling to Kansas City; we can provide some suggestions for flights and local arrangements.

Every group of up to 24 students that registers for the contest must be accompanied by an adult sponsor who is willing to help proctor or grade tests (this sponsor should be designated on the registration form). Parents can register individual students and serve as sponsors if necessary, but we recommend that parents check to see if there is anyone else at the school who is planning to attend before registering an individual student. Please note that only students who attend schools that are paid mathleague.org members for this school year are eligible to compete at the championship meet. You can check on your school's membership status and purchase a membership if necessary here.

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW! NOTE: REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS APRIL 13.

Practice tests are available for purchase at the mathleague.org store if you would like to prepare for the contest (one set of tests is available for free download at that link as well). Further questions can be directed to mathleague@mathleague.org or 866-387-6284. We look forward to seeing you on April 16!
