Bad Religious Commentary...

So this morning, NPR was doing their pledge drive, so I had to switch over to some other station and I (unfortunately) ended up on a religious station that was discussing some cave that was found with really short (like 3 feet tall) dead people in it and the carbon dating showed that the people died 13, 000 years ago because the cave flooded.
So now, you know where this is going. The religious man decided that the cave must’ve been filled with water from Noah’s flood. He then went on to submit an explanation for the Biblical line that states that there were giants in Noah’s time. Noah and his family, he argued, were giants and these people in the cave were average height for the day. Apparently, all the short people died in the flood and Noah and his family procreated and that explains why we’re all tall, now.
But most frustrating was when he condemned Darwinists who see something in science and manipulate it to fit their current ideology. The ironing is delicious.
So I spent the next few minutes laughing at the guy, annoyed. And then I got to work… and a lady at work (who is notorious around the whole office for being a control freak and who has screamed at me for not putting a period after my middle initial and for using "Sign and Date" stickers to flag a place where someone needs only to sign instead of just using "Sign" stickers) starts discussing a trip she went on where she had to stay with this woman who was a total control freak. She totally bashes this woman for being a control freak and for being really picky about things (like running the dishwasher frequently).
After listening to the bonehead religious fanatic, this hit me hard. How often do we do this as humans? Do we all do this? Are we that unaware?
