November 6 Contest at Santiago Canyon College

mathleague.org is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a math contest on November 6, 2010 for students in grades 3, 4, and 5. Testing will consist of Sprint, Target, and Team rounds. The contest will be held at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, and the cost will be $10 per student. The approximate schedule will be as follows:
  • 1:00pm Check in
  • 1:30pm Testing begins
  • 4:00pm Break and math games for students
  • 5:00 Tiebreakers and awards
mathleague.org is also organizing a state championship for elementary students in April, and high scorers at this event will be invited to compete at the state championship! More details will be available at the November 6 event.

Santiago Canyon College is located at 8045 E. Chapman Ave. in Orange; a map is available here. We will send a confirmation email to all registered schools the week of the contest giving the exact location on campus as well as information about parking; please contact us if you registered students and do not receive this confirmation email by November 3.

Prizes will be given to the top students in each grade level, as well as to the top teams. Students are expected to bring their own pencils and calculators; students may bring a lunch if they wish, but lunch will also be available for purchase on site.

Every group of up to 12 students that registers for the contest must be accompanied by an adult sponsor who is willing to help proctor or grade tests (this sponsor should be designated on the registration form). Parents can register individual students and serve as sponsors if necessary, but we recommend that parents check to see if there is anyone else at the school who is planning to attend before registering an individual student.

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW! NOTE: REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS OCTOBER 29. If you wish to register after October 29, please contact us to see if space is still available.

Free practice tests are available for download by clicking on the "Tests" link at the left and following the instructions. Further questions can be directed to mathleague@mathleague.org or 877-872-5244. We look forward to seeing you on November 6!
