January 9 Contest at Santiago Canyon College

mathleague.org is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a junior high math contest on January 9, 2011. Testing will consist of Sprint, Target, Team and Countdown rounds. The contest will be held at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, and the cost will be $10 per student. The approximate schedule will be as follows:
  • 8:00am Check in begins
  • 8:30am Testing begins
  • 11:00 Break
  • 11:30 Countdown round and awards
Santiago Canyon College is located at 8045 E. Chapman Ave. in Orange; a map is available here. We will send a confirmation email to all registered schools the week of the contest giving the exact location on campus as well as information about parking; please contact us if you registered students and do not receive this confirmation email by January 5.

Prizes will be given to the top students in each grade level, as well as to the top teams. Students are expected to bring their own pencils and calculators.

Every group of up to 24 students that registers for the contest must be accompanied by an adult sponsor who is willing to help proctor or grade tests (this sponsor should be designated on the registration form). Parents can register individual students and serve as sponsors if necessary, but we recommend that parents check to see if there is anyone else at the school who is planning to attend before registering an individual student.

CLICK HERE TO REGISTER NOW! NOTE: REGISTRATION DEADLINE IS JANUARY 4. If you wish to register after January 4, please contact us to see if space is still available.

Practice tests are available for purchase at the mathleague.org store if you would like to prepare for the contest (one set of tests is available for free download at that link as well). Further questions can be directed to mathleague@mathleague.org or 866-387-6284. We look forward to seeing you on January 9!
